Cronin wins Munster Car Club Autocross

Daniel Cronin the 2009 Munster Autocross Champion showed that he had lost none of his speed during the winter break in the championship as he scored maximum points in Round 1 of the 2010 Jerry Murphy Tyres Munster Autocross Championship. Cronin set a blistering pace and his time of 1:28.50 could not be beaten despite the best efforts of Mark Dolphin who set a time of 1:28.84. Class 1 was yet again a close affair with Ger Lynch taking the honours in his Starlet by just 2 seconds from the Civic of Victor Beamish with Conor Bradley 3rd. Class 2 saw Ian Stanley take the top spot from Owen Murphy while Gerard O’ Connell was the sole entrant in class 3. James Lehane won Class 4 with Jimmy Lucey taking the class 5 honours in his Special. Mark Dolphin won class 6 for motorbike engined special and the Junior class battle was won by David Beamish with Denis Nagle 2nd. Well done to Gavin Walsh the Munster Car Club for putting together an elcellent event. The next round of the championship is set to take place in Skibbereen on the 14th February where the battle for the 2010 championship will again commence!.
