The First Time Rally Senior Official (Clerk of the Course, Steward and Safety Officer) training course will now take place on APRIL 11th (SUNDAY) 2010 at Motorsport Ireland, 34 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 from 9.30am to 5pm.
The Course Fee is €25.00 per person
Cronin wins Munster Car Club Autocross
Daniel Cronin the 2009 Munster Autocross Champion showed that he had lost none of his speed during the winter break in the championship as he scored maximum points in Round 1 of the 2010 Jerry Murphy Tyres Munster Autocross Championship. Cronin set a blistering pace and his time of 1:28.50 could not be beaten despite the best efforts of Mark Dolphin who set a time of 1:28.84. Class 1 was yet again a close affair with Ger Lynch taking the honours in his Starlet by just 2 seconds from the Civic of Victor Beamish with Conor Bradley 3rd. Class 2 saw Ian Stanley take the top spot from Owen Murphy while Gerard O’ Connell was the sole entrant in class 3. James Lehane won Class 4 with Jimmy Lucey taking the class 5 honours in his Special. Mark Dolphin won class 6 for motorbike engined special and the Junior class battle was won by David Beamish with Denis Nagle 2nd. Well done to Gavin Walsh the Munster Car Club for putting together an elcellent event. The next round of the championship is set to take place in Skibbereen on the 14th February where the battle for the 2010 championship will again commence!.
Dunlop National Rally Championship – Junior Category
The winner of the Junior category of the Dunlop National Rally Championship 2010 will go forward to the interview process for the Billy Coleman Award.
1. Competitors may compete on 6 events and count their best 4 scores.
The 6 events may be picked from any of the 7 rounds listed below.
2. Drivers must be aged under 26 on 1 January 2010.
3. Drivers may compete in a Group N or A car up to 1600 cc or in a Modified car up to 1650 cc.
In addition to this, the two highest placed drivers in the overall classification of the Dunlop National Rally Championship who meet the criteria set out in 2 and 3 above will go forward to the interview stage of the Billy Coleman Award.
In total, three drivers from the Dunlop Championship will go forward to the interview process for the Billy Coleman Award.
The 7 events, from which 6 may be picked, are as follows:
