2008 Cork ‘20′ Rally announced

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Murphy Construction Weathermaster Ltd Cork ‘20′ International Rally 2008.

On behalf of the organisers, the Munster Car Club Ltd & our joint main sponsors Murphy Construction & Weathermaster Ltd., I would like to welcome you to the Radisson SAS Hotel at Little Island, Cork which again is Rally Headquarters for the weekend. The Cork ‘20′ International Rally is a counting round of the Global Group Irish Tarmac Championship, the 023 Tiles Southern 4 Championship and the Fiesta Sporting Championship with 170 stage miles approx of demanding smooth surface and 50% bonus points for the Global Group Irish Tarmac Championship contenders, a great weekend of rallying is envisaged. The Cork ‘20′ is one of the oldest rally’s in Europe, this is the 93rd year of its successful running. We the Munster Car Club would like to thank our sponsors, without their assistance and financial support it would not be possible to run this event, Murphy Construction and Weathermaster Ltd our main sponsors and the Radisson SAS as Rally HQ and secondary sponsors. This year we are extremely fortunate to have a fantastic facility for service, namely the new Cork Marts complex at Rathcormac, which we will use on both days, we would like to thank the staff and management at Cork Marts for their co-operation and for the use of their premises for the weekend. I would also like to thank our own hard working committee, Cork County Council, The residents and land owners on the route, the Gardaí, Ordinance Survey Ireland and the media. Looking forward to meeting you at the Radisson SAS on the 27th and 28th September for a competitive and enjoyable weekend of motor sport in County Cork.
